The Legacy Fund Welcomes a New Local Director

Since 2014, the Torres del Paine Legacy Fund has financed and implemented projects to ensure a more sustainable future for southern Patagonia. To the best of our ability, we’ve strived to create a mechanism that allows the tourism industry and visitors to give back to the destination. However, this time, it’s our turn to become more grounded and sustainable in our own work.

The Torres del Paine Legacy Fund’s leadership has always consisted of folks from the United States. However, for the first time, we’re pleased to announce the hiring of a Local Director that lives in the Magallanes region. Please join us in welcoming Fiorella Repetto-Giavelli to the Legacy Fund and CREST family.

With more than 12 years of experience in the region, Fiorella brings an unmatched expertise in conservation and ecological restoration to the Legacy Fund team. Through her extensive research and high-level projects implemented with Patagonia’s civil society, government, and academic institutions, Fiorella has demonstrated a knack for bridging academia to concrete sustainability & visitor management actions.

Prior to joining the Legacy Fund, she worked with both the Wildlife Conservation Society and Kauyeken in the southern cone region. Her work has consisted of numerous cross-cutting themes, covering everything from huemul conservation to trail management & planning. She is an environmental biologist with a passion for nature, education, and community engagement to achieve ambitious conservation goals.

We are beyond excited to welcome Fiorella to the team and know that she will push the Legacy Fund towards an even more impactful portfolio of projects. Please join us in welcoming her to the team!
